I'm finding that to keep peace with coworkers and family I have to bite my tongue quite a bit about current events. It's hard for me when I know how scary things are. It helps to have safe people to be able to vent to and connect with. Thank you for creating a safe space in such an unsafe world

I hear you! It be maddening when you want to keep the peace but are internally screaming. Also, you have to consider your safety—which is important!

Sometimes it helps to set boundaries and let them know you won’t discuss certain topics. That refusal to be drawn into a debate you can’t win can be powerful, showing that you aren’t obligated to explain why you disagree with them unless they are actually interested in talking with an open mind.
